Hanoi Day 3

let me start with hanoi's traffic. sibeh jialat. machiam motogp. haha...

anyway, i went out walking around today to time how long i would take to walk to sofitel metropole. it is quite easy to walk to Sofitel. from my place, i just have to walk straight down one street. it took me approximately 40mins to get to Sofitel from my apartment on foot. according to Ngoc, a very nice lady i got to know from Ace, an ex-student of prof. Gaylene, it takes about 10mins to get to Sofitel on a bike.

the front of Sofitel. see the BMW? it is the exact one that picked me up from the airport. hehe. so i went in to take a look. the interior look really nice and luxurious. something i wouldnt have expected of a hotel in Vietnam. Sofitel is considered a top-end hotel in Hanoi. the best hotel in Hanoi.

then i head down to Hoan Kiem Lake. it is just two streets away from Sofitel. popular tourist attractions. popular with the locals as well, young and old.

and just right at the one corner of the lake, i found this...

and this...

well, the tourist information center (TIC) is better than our SVC. the TIC gots the same free internet, booking services and of course tourist information officers. they are called travel advisors here. haha. but the best thing is, the TIC got a Gloria Jeans Coffee in it. tourist can sip latte and look at brochures at the same time. SVC? only mineral water.

and as i mentioned earlier, traffic is a killer...

now i shall go nua and rest for tmr.
